This research contributes to the field of conservation science and the publicationfocuses on how earlier methods for preserving wood using alum may leadto salt depositions which may cause serious decay on wood in museum collections.These are the results from a research project carried out in collaborationbetween the Swedish National Heritage Board and The Swedish HistoryMuseum.
